Welcome to Gospelr, the original social network site for Christians as covered on TechCrunch in 2008! Our goal was and still is to provide online bible study technology in the form of a Christian social network and ultimately help spread the word of God online.
Our new Gospelr.com website design allows Christians to read and search the bible online as well as highlight and make notes on bible verses. We have also listened to your feedback to make our new website even more social. It now includes the ability to follow Gospelr users and see their Gospelr timeline of hightlights and notes - just like on popular social network sites like Twitter and Facebook.
Speaking of Twitter and Facebook, you can now log into Gospelr.com using your existing Twitter or Facebook accounts and share verses and your notes with your friends on these networks too. We also added Google Plus +1 support to share verses and notes with your Google friends.
The website technology has been rewritten from scratch using Ruby on Rails 3.1 and includes plenty of AJAX to make the site faster and easier to use. We also updated our blog’s design while we were at it as well.
We believe our new design will make it easier for bible study groups to follow each other and share notes together in a fun and easy way. We hope that the new site will make reading the bible much enjoyable and easier to spread the Lord’s Word with your friends in other social networks bringing more people back to the CHristian faith in the process. We encourage your continued feedback to make Gospelr.com your favorite online bible sharing destination.
God Bless!

We have reserved a couple of amazing domains (Amen.Gd & Catholicy.com). We are looking for inspirational recommendations from the community on how to use them to further spread God’s Word. Please DM @Gospelr if you have one!
We are looking to expand our online bible library to all versions. Our service requires that we upload a text-based bible in CSV format. Basically each verse is listed in the file as its own row with the corresponding book, chapter, and verse information.
If you have access to bibles in this format or consider yourself unique skilled to help create text bibles in this format, please send me an email at chris [at] matthieu.us.
God Bless
Chris
Follow @Gospelr for Hourly Gospel Verse Tweets -
Do you enjoy reading the bible and discussing verses with others? Follow @gospelr to receive hourly gospel verse tweets. See an interesting verse tweet and click on the link to add a comment or note in our online social bible!
You can now choose between a drop-down list of bible books or a type-ahead text box with chapter and verse selection. This new feature helps you go directly to a specific chapter and verse to begin reading the bible. You can enter a specific chapter number or use the chapter:verse format.
Click on the “plus” image next to the text box to switch between the two options.
We enjoy hacking on Gospelr.com!
I have owned the domain GodRules.com for over a decade now and recently directed it at Gospelr.com. I can definitely see an uptick in site traffic. Not surprising though as God Rules has 94M results returned on Google. Trying anything to increase spreading of the Word.
God Bless,
Gospelr
Gospelr Gets a Facebook Fan Page -
In true Web 2.0 fashion, Gospelr.com now has a Facebook Fan Page. Now what?

Based on user feedback, many usability enhancements have been made to Gospelr.com.
Many people apparently didn’t understand that they could actually tweet from Gospelr in the top text box and were copying and pasting bible verses into their own Twitter clients. We have added the “Tweet It” button almost everywhere on the site where a tweet could be generated including directly from the bible verse itself.
We also extended the chapter and verse link to the entire verse so that users can more easily isolate the quote from the bible and see all of the discussion notes related to that verse.
We still may need to find a better way to represent notes and tags as many users still do not realize that they can click on the gray notes bubble or the blue tag button to make private or public comments/questions about a verse or tag the verse for later access via the tag cloud feature.
We truly appreciate all of your feedback and support. Thanks for making Gospelr.com such a special site!
God Bless,
Gospelr
